Southdale has been awarded a place on a four year national framework agreement to assist in delivering a major build programme on behalf of one of the UK’s leading specialist providers of Extra Care and retirement housing.
 
Halifax-based construction firm, Southdale, which specialises in the social housing and public build arena, is one of seven organisations to enter into the agreement with Hanover. 

The company’s agreement with Hanover demonstrates the diverse breadth of products it now offers within the public build sector.

The firm has traditionally specialised within social housing, but is rapidly expanding into building schemes ranging from Extra Care housing and medical centres through to schools, libraries and community centres.

Paul Moore, managing director for Southdale, said: “Entering into major framework agreements is pivotal to the future growth of Southdale, and this new partnership with Hanover is no exception. I feel we’re well placed to excel within this agreement, with Hanover leading the tendering process to find a panel of constructors who have the skills, expertise, flexibility and capacity to deliver large schemes on time and on budget.
 
“We can’t wait to get our teeth into some exciting projects across the country with our new framework partner.”

Perry Scott, head of procurement at Hanover, said:  “We look forward to working with Southdale and benefiting from the experience they will bring to the framework over the next four years. The framework agreement is expected to deliver approximately £140 million of construction projects over the life of the agreement.
 
“Given the current economic conditions we are assessing each development opportunity very carefully. We do intend to continue developing Extra Care housing and contemporary retirement housing on a mix of tenures.”
